Critical Thinking
content-image Course Objectives

As the pace of change in the business world increases, there is a growing demand for business professionals with the capacity to analyze information and make appropriate decisions rapidly. Moreover, there is a growing need to communicate with diverse audiences, both inside and outside one’s organization. In this course, students will learn to perform critical evaluations with fewer preconceptions and identify new ways of solving problems.

On Days 1 and 2, students will learn the basic skills of thinking, while on Days 3 and 4, they will learn how to think when solving problems, before learning how to think when communicating on Days 5 and 6.

  • Perform critical evaluations free from preconceptions and bias
  • Identify new ways of solving problems
  • Communicate their conclusions persuasively to achieve a desired outcome

Takashi Tsutsumi
Takashi Tsutsumi is a seasoned business professional with a diverse background across industries.

Upon graduation from Kyoto University, Takashi started his career as a claims expert at Tokio Marine Fire and Insurance. In this role, he primarily worked to identify the causes of accidents, calculate damages, and negotiate with stakeholders.

Takashi later joined GLOBIS Corporate Training as an organizational development consultant. At GLOBIS, he designed and delivered numerous corporate training sessions centered around enhancing performance and productivity for client companies. After gaining his MBA from Ashridge Business School, Takashi joined Eli Lilly Japan K.K. as a recruiter, overseeing HR-related operations and mid-career recruiting.

In 2016, Takashi returned to GLOBIS Corporation, where he went on to manage faculty development, content creation, and in-house research. Currently, Takashi is the head of GLOBIS Asia Campus Pte. Ltd., where he is responsible for providing training and development programs to corporate clients in Southeast Asia.

Jake Pratley

Jake Pratley is a Director of GLOBIS Asia Pacific, responsible for expanding Japan’s No.1 MBA and corporate training offerings across the region. He has over 15 years of experience in professional education, with a focus on business development, faculty management, and global program delivery. At GLOBIS, he has led the global expansion of the MBA programs, launched new learning products, and streamlined operations to support scalable, globally accessible learning experiences.

Jake holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Queensland and an MBA from GLOBIS University, graduating with the Award for Academic Excellence in 2017. He completed executive education programs at Harvard Business School in 2023-2024.
