This month, GLOBIS Asia Campus welcomed Dr. Meri Rosich, Adjunct Professor at GLOBIS University and corporate advisor, for a seminar titled “The upDATAble Leader: Succeeding with AI Across Cultures.” The session saw a steady turnout, with over 60 attendees joining us at our Singapore campus and a further 100+ participants joining the discussion online to explore how global companies can successfully bridge AI strategies across different business cultures.
While adoption varies significantly across regions such as Tokyo, Silicon Valley, and Singapore, Dr. Rosich emphasized that Japanese firms possess distinctive strengths that can become major competitive advantages in the AI era. With the right leadership, qualities such as process discipline, long-term thinking, and consensus-driven execution can drive successful AI adoption.
During the session, Dr. Rosich introduced her “upDATAble framework,” a practical five-step method designed to help executives lead digital transformation effectively. The framework is featured in her new book, Update All: The Executive’s Guide to the upDATAble Framework. Drawing from her 25 years of experience as a chief data officer and advisor to Fortune 500 companies across Asia, Europe, and the US, she shared actionable insights on maintaining organizational cohesion while introducing advanced technologies, ensuring that AI governance aligns with local business contexts.
The event wrapped up with an interactive Q&A session, where attendees discussed practical ways to accelerate digital initiatives within their own cross-border teams.
