The fear of AI taking our jobs is already a reality for many. For Steven Neo, it came with a large slice of irony.
Steven spent years championing automation as a Project Manager at Microsoft, only to see his own role disappear as the company embraced the AI revolution. He documented this raw journey in his book, “7-Day Breakup: A Memoir of Retrenchment, AI, and Finding Hope in Unexpected Places.”
In this intimate session, Steven will share his story of asking “Who am I without my title?”. Beyond the personal narrative, he will share insights from the frontlines of the AI revolution on how to move from “employment” to “agency,” helping us all redefine our careers as a portfolio of evolving identities.

Steven Neo is a writer, technologist, and lifelong learner whose career has spanned software engineering, global program management, and startup ecosystems across Asia and the United States. Over nearly two decades, he has worked at the intersection of technology and business, contributing to organizations ranging from innovative startups to global companies, while navigating the ever-evolving landscape of digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
Steven has an MBA from GLOBIS University, graduating as part of the inaugural Full-time MBA program in 2013.
